Wedding and party favor stickers on a home sticker printer

  • Sourced claims
  • Our calculation, labelled

For envelope seals and favor bags, a 1.5 in round is the usual pick: 8 fit on a 4×7 sheet, so 100 guests need 13 sheets, about $7.76–$8.66 in supplies (our calculation).

Who this is for

Couples and hosts making their own stickers for a wedding, shower, birthday or other party: envelope seals for invitations, favor-bag and favor-box stickers, place-card and name stickers, and small accents for the table. Liene describes this kind of batch job for its PixCut S1: “You can batch print these labels and stick them on envelopes, boxes, or tissue paper” (Liene blog), and it calls its 4×7 sticker paper “Great for planners, gift tags, packaging, and more” (Liene materials guide).

Which machine and paper fit

  • Any shape (hearts, florals, your own artwork): a printer with a cutter. The Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut and the Liene PixCut S1 both print on 4 × 7 in sticker sheets and kiss-cut around the design (Cricut shop (US); Liene tech specs; Liene blog). Kiss-cut stickers stay on the backing until you peel them, so a helper can apply a stack of seals at the table.
  • Simple round seals without a cutter: pre-cut sheets. The StickerPix Print has no cutter and uses pre-cut sheets of six 1.5 in circles, five 1 × 2.6 in rectangles or six 1.5 in squares (Cricut Help Center). The circles suit envelope seals and the rectangles suit name strips. You place artwork with Cricut’s own templates (see the pre-cut setup guide).
  • Canon SELPHY CP1500: no cutter is listed; it prints card-size (2.1 × 3.4 in) and square (2.1 × 2.1 in) label formats (Canon spec sheet), so shapes are trimmed by hand.
  • Use sticker paper, not photo paper. Liene says “Photo paper (4×6″) is for image prints; sticker paper (4×7″) has adhesive backing” (Liene materials guide).

Sizes for seals, favors and place cards

A 1.5 in round is the usual envelope or favor-bag seal and fits 8 to a 4×7 sheet. Place-card stickers at 2 × 1 in fit 9. Measure the envelope flap or favor box first; the sticker size guide has every common size, pixel sizes and free blank cut templates.

Illustrative arithmetic, not a measured cost. Counts are our calculation with the sheet maker’s layout: 0.125 in gaps, best of either orientation; the general preset assumes 0.15 in margins, the Liene preset uses Liene’s published 3.9 × 6.7 in printable area (Liene tech specs). Per sticker = cost per sheet ÷ stickers per sheet (our calculation from $47.99 ÷ 72 (Cricut shop (US) refill) and $42.99 ÷ 72 (Liene shop)).

Batch math for 50, 100 and 150 guests

One sticker per guest, in whole sheets: each print uses a full ribbon panel however much of the sheet you fill (Kerri Crafts It), so a part-filled last sheet costs the same as a full one.

Illustrative arithmetic, not a measured cost: whole sheets needed (stickers ÷ stickers per sheet, rounded up) × list price per sheet ($47.99 ÷ 72 (Cricut shop (US) refill); $42.99 ÷ 72 (Liene shop)). Supplies only: excludes tax, shipping, misprints and test sheets.

Example for 100 guests with an envelope seal and a place card each: 25 sheets on a StickerPix Print + Cut (13 of 1.5 in seals and 12 of 2 × 1 in place cards), about $16.66 in supplies, or 25 sheets and about $14.93 on a PixCut S1 (our calculation from list prices; illustrative, not a measured cost). Add a test sheet and a few spares. To compare with ordering online, use the print at home vs order calculator.

What is not published

  • Food favors: neither Cricut nor Liene describes its stickers as food-safe. Put stickers on the outside of bags, boxes and jars.
  • Outdoor and summer heat: no heat or outdoor rating is published. Cricut calls its laminated sheets “fade-, water-, and scratch-resistant” (Cricut shop (US) refill) and Liene calls its stickers waterproof (Liene shop); the bottle sticker guide quotes both in full.
  • Colour matching: Cricut says its dye-sublimation printing “is optimized for natural, balanced photo color rather than precise color matching” (Cricut shop (US)). If your palette matters, print a test sheet before the full run.

Design and file tips for wedding and party stickers

  • Work at 300 DPI. 1 in = 300 px, so a 1 in sticker is 300 px, 1.5 in is 450 px and 2 in is 600 px. A full sheet is 1200 × 2100 px for 4 × 7 in, or 1200 × 1800 px for 4 × 6 in. Other sizes: sticker size guide.
  • Use transparent PNGs for shaped stickers. Liene says transparent PNGs are especially useful for the PixCut S1’s automatic outline cutting (Liene product page). The sheet maker’s white border then follows the artwork’s outline instead of a rectangle.
  • Add a white border and keep gaps. The sheet maker’s default border is 1/16 in, and it keeps 0.125 in between stickers so borders never touch.
  • Stay inside the printable area. Liene publishes 3.9 × 6.7 in on its 4 × 7 in paper (Liene tech specs). Cricut has not published one for StickerPix, so the sheet maker’s general preset assumes a 0.15 in margin.
  • Names on place cards: the sheet maker places images, not text. Make each name as its own small PNG, add them all and untick “Repeat images to fill every slot”, or type names in your printer’s own app if it has text tools.
  • Start from free artwork: the wedding and party sticker sheets have rings, bows, florals, balloons and a cake, with no words, in 4×6 and 4×7.
  • Print one test sheet first. Liene’s own advice is to “Run a test print and cut before committing to a batch” (Liene materials guide).

Untested: whether Cricut Design Space cuts each sticker on a combined sheet PNG separately, or only around the outer outline, is unknown. We have not been able to test it on a StickerPix yet. See how to upload your own designs.

Make the sheet in your browser

Drop in your artwork, pick 1.5 in for round seals, and fill every slot. The free sheet maker lays out square or rectangular stickers (1 to 2 in, or a custom 0.5 to 3.5 in) on a 4×6 or 4×7 in sheet, can remove a photo’s background on your device, adds the white border and downloads a 300 DPI transparent PNG. Your images are never uploaded.

Questions

How many sheets do I need for 100 envelope seals?

13 sheets at 1.5 in: 8 round seals fit on a 4×7 sheet with the sheet maker’s 0.15 in margins and 0.125 in gaps (our calculation). StickerPix Print pre-cut circle sheets have six 1.5 in circles (Cricut Help Center), so 100 seals take 17 of those.

Can I print a different guest name on each sticker?

Yes, as long as each name is its own image. The sheet maker places images, not text: add one PNG per name and untick “Repeat images to fill every slot”, so each name prints once.

Are home-printed stickers safe on food favors?

Not published by Cricut or Liene. Keep stickers on the outside of favor bags, boxes and jars rather than touching food.
