Sticker printer troubleshooting: Cricut StickerPix and Liene PixCut S1

1. Indicator lights and error lights

Liene PixCut S1

• Recover from a failure: press the power button to turn the printer off, then press it again to turn it on; the printer tries to fix the problem automatically after powering on (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Power button controls: hold for 3 seconds to power on or off; hold for 7 seconds to reset to factory settings (the indicator lights turn on and blink for 2 seconds when restored) (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Uninterrupted operations: pressing the power button during printing or a firmware update does not interrupt it (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• App error messages: the Liene Photo app alerts you to error conditions through in-app messaging, so follow the on-screen instructions in the app (Liene user manual (PDF)).

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

Cricut hasn’t published a light or error-code table for StickerPix yet (checked 26 Sep 2026).

• The light begins to pulse when the machine is ready to connect (Cricut Help Center).
• During a firmware update, “the power light may blink or progress may pause near the end of the update. This is expected” (Cricut Help Center).
• If Design Space displays an error, follow the on-screen instructions first (Cricut Help Center).

2. Paper jams and feed problems

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

Cricut’s documented steps to clear jams (Cricut Help Center):

1. Restart first: turn the machine off, wait 15 seconds, and turn it on again. Restarting repositions the print head and internal parts to help prevent damage (Cricut Help Center).
2. Never pull paper forcibly: do not forcibly pull out jammed paper or sticker sheets (Cricut Help Center).
3. Power off and unplug: once the machine has restarted, turn it off and unplug it before checking for jammed material (Cricut Help Center).
4. Door D (bottom): turn the machine on its side, open Door D on the bottom, remove the jammed material, and close Door D (Cricut Help Center).
5. Check blade assembly: remove Door B and inspect the blade assembly and carriage for material or debris; on your first print and cut, make sure the packaging guard has been removed from the blade and clamp assembly (Cricut Help Center).
6. Check printing area: remove the material tray and check for jammed material or debris (Cricut Help Center).
7. Reseat and restart: ensure the ink cartridge is properly installed, the material tray is fully seated, and all doors and panels are closed before restarting (Cricut Help Center).
8. If the issue continues, contact Cricut Member Care (Cricut Help Center).

Prevention:

• Use StickerPix Print + Cut materials only; using wrong materials (such as StickerPix Print pre-cut sheets) may cause loading errors, feeding or jam issues, or incomplete prints (Cricut Help Center).
• Load sheets printing side up, with the tray guide set to the 4 × 7" position for sticker sheets (4 × 6" for photo paper) (Cricut Help Center).
• Load at most 18 sheets (one pack) into the tray, and push the tray until it clicks into place (Cricut Help Center).
• Leave at least 12 in (30.5 cm) clearance on all sides so materials feed in and out freely (Cricut Help Center).

Liene PixCut S1

• Clear a jam automatically: restarting the cutter automatically clears paper stuck in the machine. If unsuccessful at first, you can try restarting several times (Liene support FAQ).
• Do not tear paper: never forcefully tear or pull out stuck paper; Liene states this causes non-recoverable machine failure (Liene support FAQ).
• Keep cassette in place: the paper cassette must be installed for the machine to perform its automatic reset and self-test (Liene support FAQ).

Prevention:

• Load a maximum of 18 sheets in the cassette, glossy side facing up, with the width adjuster set to 4×7" (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Never reuse paper for printing and cutting; reusing paper can cause jams or cause ink sheets to adhere to the paper, damaging the cutter (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Paper passes through four times during printing; do not pull paper during passes, and keep about 20 cm clear on both sides (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Use official Liene ribbon and photo or sticker paper only (Liene user manual (PDF)).

Forum user reports (not official fixes):

• One owner reported a “jammed” error mid-cut on sheet 13 after 12 successful prints; power-cycling, unplugging, reconnecting, different devices and checking for obstructions did not resolve it, and no solution was posted in the thread (Reddit r/stickers).
• Another owner reported frequent paper jams within three weeks of purchase (Reddit r/pixcut).
• If restarting does not clear the jam, contact Liene support (see Contact support below).

3. Cut offset or misaligned cuts

Liene PixCut S1

Liene’s calibration procedure (Liene how-to):

1. Open the Liene Photo app, tap Add Printer (or switch to PixCut S1), and turn on the printer and Bluetooth (Liene how-to).
2. Tap the top of the screen, then “Device Firmware”, to check the firmware is up to date (Liene how-to).
3. Select “Cutting Calibration” and tap “Print and Cut” to print the calibration sample (Liene how-to).
4. Measure and enter the actual coordinates for points A, B, C, and D from the printed sample, to decimal places (Liene how-to).
5. Tap “Start Calibration” (Liene how-to).

Blade maintenance: the blade is consumable; replace it when cut quality drops or if damaged (Liene user manual (PDF)). When inserting a new blade, check that the blade holder sits correctly in the clamp position (Liene how-to).

Forum user reports (not official fixes):

• An owner reported uneven borders when cutting squares (about 1.5 mm at the top and 0.5 mm at the bottom) and inaccurate curves, noting the app enforces an approximately 1 mm minimum border with no borderless cut (Reddit r/craftsnark).
• Another user reported small “hooks” at the end of cuts, which the owner says Liene support described as normal (Reddit r/silhouettecutters).

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

Cricut’s StickerPix help articles don’t cover cut offset or cut calibration yet (checked 26 Sep 2026).

• Check the blade assembly behind Door B for debris, and make sure the packaging guard was removed before the first cut (Cricut Help Center).
• Overlapping stickers on the Canvas are cut separately unless you merge them using Merge Sticker (Cricut Help Center).
• To print an image without cutting around it, select the element, go to Border, and toggle Sticker off (Cricut Help Center).
• Cricut’s StickerPix help articles don’t mention the Print Then Cut calibration used by its cutting machines, so we don’t suggest it here.

4. Connection and app pairing failures

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

Troubleshooting connection issues from Cricut Help Center (Cricut Help Center):

• Machine not listed: wait for start-up to complete; the machine stops making noise and the light begins to pulse when it is ready to connect (Cricut Help Center). Setup can take a minute or two to appear (Cricut Help Center).
• Keep device within 15 ft (4.5 m) of the printer (Cricut Help Center).
• Ensure Bluetooth is on, or toggle Bluetooth off and on again (Cricut Help Center).
• Check Bluetooth permissions for Design Space:
  • Windows: confirm Bluetooth prompts and turn off airplane mode (Cricut Help Center).
  • macOS: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth (Cricut Help Center).
  • iOS / iPadOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth (Cricut Help Center).
  • Android: Settings > Apps > Design Space > Permissions > Bluetooth / Nearby devices (some Android devices also require location services enabled) (Cricut Help Center).
• Ensure the machine is not currently connected to another device (Cricut Help Center).

• Keeps disconnecting: stay within 15 ft (4.5 m), fully quit and reopen Design Space, restart the machine, update Design Space, or rerun New Product Setup (Cricut Help Center).

Liene PixCut S1

• Turn on the printer and enable Bluetooth on your phone; a blinking blue light indicates it is waiting for pairing (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Open the Liene Photo app and tap “Add Printer” (or tap “Switch” top right and choose Liene PixCut) (Liene support FAQ).
• Android connects directly in the app (Android 12 and below requires location permission; Android 12 and above requires nearby devices permission) (Liene support FAQ).
• On iPhone, complete the pairing connection in iOS Settings > Bluetooth (Liene support FAQ).
• In phone Bluetooth settings, check that “Liene PixCut S1-XXXX” shows as connected, where XXXX is the last four digits of the MAC address on the SN label underneath the machine (Liene user manual (PDF)).

5. Firmware update problems

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

• Keep your device near the machine and leave Design Space open throughout the update (Cricut Help Center).
• The circular progress bar may take a few minutes to advance on slower networks (Cricut Help Center).
• “The power light may blink or progress may pause near the end of the update. This is expected” (Cricut Help Center).
• The machine turns off and on automatically during the update; if it stays off, press Power and wait for reconnection (Cricut Help Center).
• If the update fails: turn off and on again to retry, try from another compatible device, reinstall Design Space, or contact Member Care (Cricut Help Center).

Liene PixCut S1

• Connect the printer in the Liene Photo app, tap the device icon, select “Device Firmware”, and follow prompts (Liene support FAQ).
• A blinking white light indicates firmware updating is in progress (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Pressing the power button during a firmware update will not interrupt it (Liene user manual (PDF)).

6. Colour and print quality

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

• Softer blacks: StickerPix combines cyan, magenta and yellow dye rather than using a dedicated black ink, resulting in softer blacks and less contrast (Cricut Help Center).
• Muted neon and saturated colours: bright neon colours may appear slightly muted, and fine details may show slightly less sharpness than on screen (Cricut Help Center).
• Colour matching: dye-sublimation is optimized for natural photo color rather than exact brand or Pantone color matching (Cricut shop (US)). Design tips: set screen brightness to ~50% in neutral light (Cricut Help Center).
• Colour drift: print colours can vary while the printer warms up, in a warm room, or on the first print after sitting idle; operate in a cool, well-ventilated space (Cricut Help Center).
• Environment: operate between 50–95 °F (10–35 °C) and 40–60% RH (Cricut Help Center); store unused supplies below 86 °F (30 °C) and under 80% RH (Cricut Help Center).
• Fingerprints and dust: avoid touching printable surfaces, and keep materials stored in their protective bag or tray to prevent coloured specks (Cricut Help Center; Cricut Help Center).

Liene PixCut S1

• Slight colour variations between different printers and between prints on the same machine are normal (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Do not touch the glossy printable side (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• When idle for long periods, keep the paper cassette inserted to keep dust out of the cabin; otherwise, first-print quality may be affected (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Operating environment: 10–35 °C (50–95 °F) and 40–60% RH; store sticker paper below 30 °C and under 80% RH (Liene user manual (PDF)).

7. Ink cartridge and ribbon

Cricut StickerPix Print + Cut

• Each ink cartridge is good for 36 prints; it applies yellow, magenta and cyan colours plus a clear protective laminate film in four layers (Cricut shop (US); Cricut Help Center).
• Cartridges are sized to match material packs so ink and sheets run out together (Cricut shop (US)).
• Install cartridges only while the printer is idle: open Door A, lift lock, insert the new cartridge label side up until it locks into place, and close door (Cricut Help Center; Cricut Help Center).
• Do not touch the ribbon film, as oils cause print defects (Cricut Help Center).
• Cricut warns that third-party consumables may cause clogging, print defects or machine damage (Cricut Help Center).

Liene PixCut S1

• Each ribbon cartridge yields 36 prints (4×7 in) (Liene tech specs).
• To replace: open the ink cartridge door, lift the lock upward to pop out the used cartridge, insert the new cartridge until the lock is in place, then close the door (Liene user manual (PDF)).
• Do not use unofficial ribbon or photo/sticker paper (Liene user manual (PDF)).

8. Stickers not sticking or curling (Liene PixCut S1)

Liene PixCut S1

What Liene says:

• The sticker paper "is designed to be removable, allowing you to reattach the stickers to other surfaces" and has "an easy-peel backing that leaves no adhesive residue and allows for repositioning" (Liene shop).
• Liene’s materials guide says its "enhanced-adhesion sticker paper sticks securely on smooth surfaces and resists moisture" (Liene materials guide), and that "Vinyl or generic sticker sheets are not supported and may damage the machine" (Liene materials guide).
• The manual says to apply stickers to a smooth, flat, clean surface and to keep sticker paper away from humidity, which can make it curl or lose adhesion (Liene user manual (PDF)).

What reviewers found (reviewers, not official):

• Silhouette School (Liene offered the machine for review) says standard stickers placed on paper "were peeling up within minutes". Liene suggested its "enhanced adhesion" paper, sold separately, which gave "better - although not perfect - results". She recommends you "really press all edges of the stickers down hard when applying to the surface to prevent peeling and curling" (Silhouette School).
• Make: noted "comments online about the adhesive failing". Its stickers "felt a little easier to remove than others, though not enough to cause problems" (Make:).

Forum user reports (not official fixes):

• Multiple owners report that adhesion is weak on many surfaces; the poster reported that Liene customer service said the sticker material is intended for smooth surfaces such as glass and water bottles rather than paper (Reddit r/craftsnark).

What you can try, based on the above:

• Use Liene’s own paper, not vinyl or generic sheets (Liene materials guide).
• Apply to smooth, flat, clean surfaces (Liene user manual (PDF); Liene materials guide).
• Press all edges down firmly (Silhouette School).
• Store sticker paper away from humidity (Liene user manual (PDF)).

We haven’t tested adhesion ourselves.

Cricut’s help articles don’t cover adhesion problems yet.

• Cricut describes the sticker sheets as having long-lasting adhesive (Cricut shop).
